Hi Stephen,

I would just go to a antique gun show and pick up a normal Kai-Gunto tsuba. You can sometimes find real ones on eBay as well at a fair price. With the current tsuba it's hard to tell what it is with all that thick electroplated gold on it which was worn thin on the seppa-dai.

Hi KM,

I have noticed from this Japanese seller that cross sells on Yahoo Japan has sold a number of "gold" sword fittings lately mostly reproduction menuki. Refer to my first reply above for the answer to your question.
