Brian Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 So? What's so special about a poor wakizashi with rough hada? The price was what it is worth. Lots of collectors won't buy these items as the seller is known as a clearing house for poor swords that can't be sold in Japan. Maybe this is one, maybe not. But nothing phenomenal about this. Brian Sorry, I'm not that educated in finding quality Japanese swords. I just thought it's a decent price for papered bizen koto wakizashi. Quote
Art Torano Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 Trevor, Please do not go down the path that so many newbies (including myself) go down. Spending hundreds or thousands of dollars with no knowledge of what it is you are buying is a shame. There are many threads devoted to how you are better off investing in books and going to sword shows to learn before you buy anything. So enough said. Bon Chance!! Art T. Quote
bone Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 Trevor, Please do not go down the path that so many newbies (including myself) go down. I agree completely with this statement. I have spent more on books than items at this point. That being said... I'm unfortunate in not being able to retain new knowledge and my doctor tells me this will only get worse. I've come to completely depend on the experts here and even with them I still make many, many mistakes. Get the books and learn what you can! It get's so much easier after reading and going to sword shows to understand what the books tell you. Do it now, don't wait for it. Quote
