Brian Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 Pics aren't good enough to tell much besides it is genuine. Not sure about that tsuba though. Seems to be in handachi type fittings. What is the length of the cutting edge? Nakago looks like it belongs to a wakizashi. Please give some measurements, and a pic or 2 of the whole blade without fittings. Brian Quote
Veli Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 Hello Eduardo! You might try translating this by yourself; Hint: the second kanji is "Ta/Da" 田. If you do not want to try, here's the answer: Takada Junin Tomoyuki 高田住人友行. Bungo province, Takada school, in my opinion Shinto period. Might be a genuine signature. BR, Veli Quote

Geraint Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 Hi Eduardo. The value will be influenced by the condition and the measurements. Good pictures of the whole blade and dimensions will help. Quote

Brian Posted April 28, 2014 Report Posted April 28, 2014 This is a wakizashi in average handachi mounts. There were a few generations of this smith..working around the mid 1600's to the end of the 1600's. Due to the condition, (and this is just a rough guess) it is probably worth around $800-1000.
