Davis Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Hi Can anyone help with the translation of the caption on the rear of the photo? Regards Mick Quote
k morita Posted December 22, 2013 Report Posted December 22, 2013 Hi, Thank you for sharing the photograph. This photograph was taken in 1888 or 1894. Maybe he was an Army surgeon of the Imperial Guard Division. Are you a collector or a dealer of those photos? I finished the decipherment of the Kanji text of this photograph. Quote
Davis Posted December 22, 2013 Author Report Posted December 22, 2013 Morita San I am very grateful for your kind assistance. I found this photo last year at a flea market and it intrigued me. I am not a dealer but began collecting photographs relating to the Sword about 45 years ago. At one time my collection was extensive but over the years I have donated most of them to authors/researchers and now only retain perhaps a dozen or so of the more interesting. Thank you once again. k morita Posted December 23, 2013 Report Posted December 23, 2013 Hi, Thank you for your great reply. You are a great collector for long time! About this photograph: I think that this photograph was presented to Mr. Nonaka(family name) Syoji from Dr. Syochi(family name) Shinzo in 1888(or 1894). So,I don't know which person(Mr.Nonaka or Dr,Syochi) on the photograph. Maybe a person on the photo is Dr.Syochi ,i would think.... :D Quote
