LostDutchman Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 Hello friends, At the coin shop from time to time people bring things in. This came in today. I'd appreciate your comments. Matt Quote
Marius Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 Nondescript, late Edo, run of the mill tsuba. "Factory" iron. Mass product. Quote
MauroP Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Hi Matt, IMHO a nice mid to late Edo tsuba, the first I see with a kingfisher (kawasemi - 川蝉). I'm unable to suggest a school, but I'd guess either Shōami (正阿弥), Nara (奈良) or Mito (水戸). Bye, Mauro Quote
Soshin Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 Hi Matt, To me it looks like late Edo Period Aizu Shoami school work. Wish the patina was a bit better on the seppa-dai but overall not that bad. P.S. I have seen far worse tsuba come out of the woodwork. Quote
