Ted Tenold Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 Hi All, Looking for a copy of a pamphlet called "Shizuoka Meito Monogatari" by Matsushita Masahika, October 1962. If any one could point me in the direction of a copy, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Quote

Ted Tenold Posted May 2, 2013 Author Report Posted May 2, 2013 Hello Morita san, Thank you. I don't know exactly what it contains. It is noted in the Nihonto Koza as a "pamphlet" containing some information relating to the Shimada group. I'm doing some research on this subject right now and would like to read what it has to offer and add it to my library. If you know of a copy that is available, please let me know. It seems to me that the Shimada school is a little bit overlooked or disregarded in their time, but produced some significant works and this has driven my curiousity to examine them in more detail. I appreciate any help you may be able to offer. Thank you again! Quote
k morita Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 Hi, Probably, the book is a private edition. I requested the rental of this book to a city library in Shizuoka Prefecture. Please wait several weeks until the book reaches me. For research of Shimada school,I think that the following book is also usefull. [sun,En,Dzu, Sanshu Toko no Kenkyu] (Pub;1976) 駿遠豆三州刀工の研究 (Research of sword smiths in three provins-- Suruga,Totomi,Izu--. http://www.japaneseswordbooksandtsuba.c ... 4%E7%A9%B6 Quote
k morita Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 Hi Ted san, I borrowed this book[shizuoka Meito Monogatari] from the public library in Shizuoka via public library in my local town.(attached pic). As a research of Shimada school, I think that [Research of sword smiths in three provins-- Suruga,Totomi,Izu] is more better than [shizuoka Meito Monogatari] . Quote
