Do the Koshirae elements (saya, sageo...) age well ?

Blades, Tsubas...can withstand march of time if properly taken care of, but what about more "organic" components of the katana, ie. the koshirae? It is possible to preserve saya, sageo, samegawa, tsukamaki... over centuries? Or their fate in middle-long term is to deteriorate?

Although they deteriorate with use there are many, many examples of extreme age that survive and can be seen. Not sure how long wood etc. can survive non-stabilised, but, the Nile boat found buried in front of Khufu's pyramid is thousands of years old. Wooden burial goods have survived for aeons as well. John
