He conducts this research at his own expense." So, perhaps what i have is a non customer ordered (no signature needed) experimental sword. Based upon the polish we all questioned this may be the reason for it. More info is coming.

It passed shinsa last week in Chicago. I don't have any detailed info yet but it's authentic.
