  1. I have had this for some time and apart from the smiths name which I think is "Eishi Kanenaga", the second inscription which is possibly either " Mr W.C.Coutts or Coates" but in reality I am stumped........ The blade is 54cm,curvature7mm, Kissaki 2cm and the Hi21.5cm It is one of a pair, the second owned by a friend, any help with confirming or denying the inscriptions would be most gratefully accepted. Regards Roy

  4. It has been a number of years since my last visit to the site, in that time we {Wife and I} have made some major changes and sold much of my collectio but while clearing many photo albums dating from the 70's to 90's I came across a load of pictures of the Ron Gregory collection. We first met and became friends way back, every time we had a chance Sue & I visited Ron and Betty, to a collector his Oshigata books and generous access to his collection made dear old Ron a world wide magnet to those interested in Nihonto. Many of you out there sent oshigata and knew him only by his replies......so..... I have published all the picture on my web site, you may recognise his swords, even own one...... As well are pictures of my early sword collection {Over 200 at one period} and a large number of oshigata to view, would be interested if you now own any as they are despersed world wide. Finally a Showa blade by Nagamura Kiyonobu that I had the now Famous Ford Hallem build a full set of Kosherei in the theme of pond life. All this is just a bit of fun, have a look when yopu have an idle moment, the links are mid section of the index page, just click on the stars....my apologies for the site,I made it and am at 67 still in the Luddite mode................... http://www.collectorsloot.homestead.com Regards Roy
