  1. Dropped you a quick message on one of your pieces.
  2. I ended up going with Shining Moon 13/Wally H. He will be repairing the saya and replacing the green/tan sageo with black silk. Also, having him re-do the tsuka. Not a huge fan of the green silk. Will be doing Black silk. I think the Gold Menuki will really pop.
  3. Good Morning, - I recently acquired a beautiful Masakiyo (Higo/Takada line) and the sword has a splitting Saya. The Saya is very unique to my collection and would like to have it repaired. Does anyone have any recommendations in the US? Thank you for any advice
  4. Yes, I did. had an opportunity to buy another more expensive sword which I jumped on. Seems to be the case some days.. Please IM with any details you feel I should add/change.
  5. $710 with no bids. I love the item description "dirty/damaged". I do really like a few of those photos, but I doubt I'd spend that kind of money on something like that.
  6. I've collected firearms most of my life. I thought that was an expensive hobby. That hobby is cheap compared to the Nihonto world.
  7. The katana arrived today and it did exceed my expectation for the most part. The blade doesn't lock solid to the saya--very loose and almost dangerous. The "ding" is WAY better than I what expected. The only other gripe I have is the leather separated near the mekugi.
  8. 54 and purchased my first Japanese Katana about 17 years ago.
  9. Let you know after my shipment of Katana and wakizashi arrive. Good size shipment, but I'm going by my argument. They're each papered so proof is with each.
  10. I was the buyer. Almost slept past the ridiculous early morning bidding. I've been in contact with the seller for a good week +. I took a leap of faith and had to look past those awful photos of the blade on the rocks, the blade in the woods (LOL). I have no idea why he would hurt his marketing like that. He should of kept the original photos. I have photos of ever Japanese Sword & firearm I've purchased over the last 30 years. $2200 for a decent lineage, papered and some really, really nice papered koshirea - I'm good with it. We'll all see next week. I'll see if I can take some photos. I can't take photos like the shops in Japan. Those guys take it to a whole new level.
  11. Rawa, you think too much? That Koshirea alone might have been worth that price. Tokubetsu Kicho NBTHK certificate for the fittings if I'm reading that right. Older certificate, but better that nothing in this case. .(Predecessor to modern Hozon/Tokubetsu Hozon)
