In addition to photographs of the blades and signatures, there are detailed descriptions of the characteristics of each sword. There is also a lineage chart that shows the development of sword making in this important province. These volumes are in excellent condition.   2. $200 or best offer Hawley 1st edition Japanese Swordsmiths These two volumes, together comprising 756 pages of the first edition of Hawley's Japanese Swordsmiths, are an essential Japanese sword reference. No English speaking collector should be without these important works. Published in 1966 (Vol. I) and 1967 (Vol. II), these are probably the most often cited books on Japanese swords and swordsmiths available in English. These are first editions. Both are complete as to pages, though the more often referred to and larger Vol I is separating in the spine. Vol. II is in good, solid shape.
