Other Info and Full Description :
This sword was gifted to me by a colleague whose grandfather had brought it back from service in W.W. II. It was in bad shape; included a cheap, black-painted scabbard with low-quality ashi, marked with in unreadable charcter in red paint (suggests it never left the arsenal until after the war?), with standard, middling-quality, army-style hilt furniture. Cleaned up pretty well. Cheap Chinese saya, polished sharkskin, horn fittings, with use scars. Silk sageo. Used lovingly for Sugawara Sogo Budo practice for 30 years.
