  1. Hey folks, here's a fun one...i got this sword as a gift, and to my surprise the handle came off and the nakago is signed? The sword is armhair-shaving-razorsharp but hamon looks fake, maybe T10? (it is magnetic) Also a really old iron tsuba is fitted, the koshirae looks and feels new-ish unfortunately.
  2. Wow, well they tend to get rather poetic in pretty much everything. Is it also a matter of someone's "bad" handwriting or maybe a dialect's involved? (we have a different dialect every 5 miles, we also write in that dialect sometimes) Anyways, thanks guys you've been a great help so far!!
  3. Hey folks, need a little help with this war banner. I know top part says best wishes, but can't figure out the rest. Thanks a bunch!
  4. Here's another one on dutch marketplace, the sarute too long, polished brass tsuba, kokura stamp looks funny, the inspection mark on the fuchi is a mess but on the blade it's half decent...and the bo-hi stops short, and somehow the screwhead looks too big?
  5. Nice display mate! Here's my mounting solution...used the old attic sliding ladder i've had laying around forever and it works pretty damn good.
  6. Is the information on the saya worth saving?
  7. Bruce cutting edge is 54cm.
  8. I'll try to get a clear picture of the hamon.
  9. Hey folks, bought a shirasaya Kaneyoshi wakizashi from Japan and has a seki stamp? Is this common on wakizashis and i thought seki stamped blades were forbidden in Japan? Nagasa is 54cm. Anyways it's a nice piece and keen to know thoughts. Thanks.
  10. Bruce,
  11. Hey guys ive finally bought myself what looks like a Nagoya stamped type 3 or type 44. After taking off the handle to examine the nakago I found a bit of an overlapping riddle....
  12. Hey guys, anyone seen a red saya for a type 98 before? (Signed and stamped blade btw) doesn't look to be a modern paint job neither, and no other colors underneath the paint. THANKS!
  13. Yeah I won't touch it, it's just quirky. Don't know about the mei being authentic tho? No paperwork but it's a nice blade nontheless.
  14. Ill make sure I take photos correctly next time! Thank you!
