  1. Hi all, been learning a lot from this forum, is there an estimate to how many ot the Type 95's were produced with the 1st pattern aluminium tsuka (where the screw passes through the ito wrap on one side)? I know it was a short 9 monthish production run?
  2. It's the first pattern earlier aluminium tsuka, the screw position was moved after 11 months of production. We were discussing if it had been repainted, were thinking most probably not now. The metal fitting have definatelly been over cleaned.
  3. Close up shots of saya paint.
  4. Hi Bruce, Great result with the original tsuka paint, the sales photo's didn't do it justice at all. I will pop a few more saya pictures on for you shortly. Does the mismatch between blade and saya numbers have a detrimental effect on the value, I'm just happy to finally own one to be honest lol. Adam
  5. Hi all, just received my first Type 95 I ran past you all last week, gotto say it looks even nicer in person. Was a little dissapointed the saya isn't matching serial no but hey ho. Enjoy the pics!
  6. Hi John, I did check out all the current copies being made by these and others beforehand, none were the earlier pattern Aluminium tsuka.
  7. Thanks Bruce, I've purchased it now so will send close up's when it arrives. Have to say I am excited!
  8. Many thanks Kiipu, other than the repaint it looks a nice piece to me, more work to be done on the knot I think.
  9. I think if it's a cheap fake they have gone to an awful lot of trouble to get all the details right. Correct manufacturer, inspection and arsenal stamps for the age of manufacture date hinted at by the serial number, correct screw through grip wrap on 1 side of the tsuka for the serial number range. Good terminations to each end of the fuller?
  10. Hi all, new here and am overawed at the amazing knowledge. Looking to buy my 1st type 95, found this but it looks in remarkably good condition (possible repaint?) All else seems good from what I have read so far, correct screw placement and stamps for an early serial aluminium tsuka. Fuller also looks good to my eyes, its just the immaculate paint that's worrying. All serial numbers are matching. Apologies for the not so great pics, it's all I have at the moment. Any help/opinions much appreciated.
