We figured it was cut down for the war, what really got his attention was the field repair done to the scabbard with a piece of boot leather, and once he got it home he realized it wasn't machine made and that's about as far as we got. Honestly as long as its not a fake he's doing good paid about half the going rate for a shin gunto.

My father recently bought this sword thinking it was a gunto but its vastly different from our other swords. Would like to know anything we can about it i can provide more pictures if needed but due to poor storage its fairly hard to get pictures with detail. Thank you Doug K
