  1. Thank you for your reply, the inlays are what attracted me to this. John B

  3. So, has anyone seen this style of inlay? Guesses about the period ?
  4. I downloaded a few authentic papered copies of that signature. I plan to scale them and overlay to compare. It will at least tell me if it’s worth submitting. I will say as a tool and die maker with 30 yrs experience, if it’s a fake, it’s a very old fake, and I’m still ok with that . If someone 350 yrs ago faked that signature, I still got a very old hand forged blade for a fair price.
  5. This is the tsuba on my first sword, just purchased. I love the inlays. John B.
  6. It’s possible that it’s a fake, I have no proof either way. I’m happy with the sword for what it is and I’m ok with the price I paid. John B.
  7. I’d rather not post the price. I have no idea if that signature is legitimate, I paid what I considered a fair price for a sword I wanted. John B .
  8. First, sorry for not signing my post. Yes it is a Kunisada blade. I’ve had a long time interest in antique arms and edged weapons, but this is my first Japanese blade. A friend on another forum steered me to it, and I fell in love with its looks. The gold inlay on the tsuba, really drew my eye. John B.
  9. Thank you, that’s what the seller said. I posted pics in the general forum, it’s a beauty.
  10. Got this off EBay, it’s my first, and I like it. This could be my new hobby.
  11. Just bought my first sword. I know what the seller listed the signature as. Just thought I’d get a second opinion.
