Guys i am to meet with a local seller that had shown me a couple blades, the first blade on top in dark saya i believe to be a mid war type98, and the other looks to be a decent blade in non military mounts? Possibly pre war? i will post a few pictures the seller has provided, i do not read much kanji. any help with translation would be much appreciated. I will ask for more pictures from the seller. The blade with orange red paint is the military mounted blade. And mei with black paint ia on the blade in non military mounts in plain wooden saya. I will ask for pictures of the other sides tomorrow as i think the seller may be unaware there may be a signature on both sides... And having trouble turning the last photo the right way

  7. Hello guys I thought I would post this here in hopes of learning more about this particular Sword and the crest on the spine of the handle. This one comes in a lot of other blades that I had just picked up local my understanding is this is a naval sword. I would like to learn more about this particular model of sword and its history. Any information given here will be greatly appreciated thank you guys very much, chuck.

  11. hello all, new member here from colorado, militaria collector. i had been advised by another collector to come here to learn and share. my main interests are Japanese military history and weapons. i mainly pickup edged items from veteran estates etc. i would like to post this ww2 naval katana for review, i would first need help with the translation with the mei, i got this one local with some others that i will post soon. any info is always greatly appreciated, this one could use abit of love and deserves to be re wrapped etc. i am unsure of what the signature inside the star stamp reads as well as the mei. i can post specific pictures upon request, i am having trouble rotating my pictures of the mei the correct way
