About Me

Hi!
I'm Michael, or Mike. I'm a fairly new collector. Been into Japanese swords/armour/fittings for many years, but recently have started properly collecting and researching/learning about it all.
I've owned 4 nihonto so far (though 2 weren't exactly great), also I have a papered fuchi kashira.
The current two nihonto are:
A Bizen Osafune school wakizashi by Sukesada, very late Koto c1580-1590. Cut down from uchigatana. Signed Bishu Osafune Sukesada.
Mumei O-wakizashi, early Shinto period, Mino den. Suriage/O-suriage from either katana or uchigatana.

Fuchi kashira:
Signed Naoyoshi, c1800. Made from Shibuichi (copper + silver mix), gold inlay finish on some of the details. Papered (NTHK I think)

Favourite/Interested schools: Bizen, Mino, Uda, Soshu
Thanks for reading. :P
