Hi David,
I just tried to make better photos, but my camera is a really cheap thing and I cannot find the right colur. Anyway, the colour is best in photo Nr 4, but a little darker. I would say a dark chocolate brown.
I bought this very beautiful Tsuba from a renowned french Dealer who told me it was Shoami school. But in my opinion there are some arguments for Owari school:
a) the symmetry of the design
b) the tekkotsu in the rim
c) the rim is squared and not round-faced
d) the dimensions: 8.3 x 8 x 0.5 cm
e) the form of the seppa-dai
What do the experts think?
Some years ago I bought this Tsuba for some few Euros and I never thought about it as a good purchase. But now I really want to know your opinion about it. It is obviously made of iron and coated in brass with a very coarse surface.
Dimensions are 8.2 x 8 x 0.2 cm
Any idea which school made Tsuba like that?
Here is a Tsuba I bought in Kyoto. I know that a part of the signature means "Shoami" but I cannot read the other Kanji - unfortunately they are very hard to read due to alterations of the Nakago-Ana. But maybe some of Gentleman on this forum has an idea?
Signature is best in Photo Nr 3
I have bought a nice Fuchi Kashira set and need some help with the translation of the signature. Could please somebody help me translating it? Does anybody know more about the artist? Thank you very much!
(Signature is in Photo Nr 3 and 4)
