I would like to throw this question out here:

 

What features are typical when a sword is referred to as "SENGOKU SUGATA"?

 

Is it UCHIGATANA?

 

Is it SHALLOW SORI?

 

I am happy to find out more!

Uchigatana became more common a that time... shorter daito with saki-sori. Amount of sori varies alot, but you don't really see the kind of shallow sori that is usually associated with mid 1600's (kanbun suguta).

"SENGOKU SUGATA" does not exist ....

 

I prefer sue Muromachi suguta.

 

There is an excellent booklet by Paul Martin "Introduction to Nyutatsu Kantei" where you will find all the necessary explanations.

Sue Koto would be the right word, Muromachi being historical period, it cannot have a sugata.
