Tsuba mei translation help

Hi,

 

Can anyone help with the mei on this tsuba? It came on a wakizashi I got recently. I think it could be Masahiro?

Thanks Rich, the guy I got it from said it was a Masahiro tsuba. So I just assumed that was what the mei read oops.

 

What does the very top kanji mean if the bottom 2 are shoami?

all 3 equal Shôami Peter.

 

正 = Shô

阿 = a

弥 = mi

 

I think we have all done that Masahiro thing at one time or another.

Hi Pete, I would guess mid to late Edo, iron Shoami guards of the earlier times were mostly well worked and Tsuchime was a noteable trait. This looks pretty homogenous. I could be wrong but gut feeling says mid Edo.
