Jacques Posted July 6, 2013 Report Posted July 6, 2013 Hi, According an old book (Shinto Shokan Yoroku) shodai Tadakuni used Botan and kikumon too There is a theory which says that nidai Tadakuni changed the way he engraved the horizontal strokes of his mei after having took the name of Tadakuni (Before, he signed Harukuni). He engraved the horizontal strokes from the right to the left. Shodai Takakuni always engraved these strokes from left to right. Clive. I think the Iida Shinto taikan is somewhat mistaken, that is also the case with Shodai and nidai Tadatsuna. Quote
