john42768 Posted July 2 Report Posted July 2 Hello. Posting for your comments and viewing enjoyment. Sam has already helped me straighten out some information that was incorrect. First half of 1944, Seki-Na-Nagoya that appears to be in very nice shape. Saya paint is deep olive and at least 95% intact. Best, John S. 3 Quote
Scogg Posted July 2 Report Posted July 2 A very nice condition Type 95, Variation#5; sometimes called the “Nagoya side latch”. This configuration with the aluminum hilt and side latch appear in the early 130k range and again in the low 200k range; along with other variations. According to my interpretation of my serial number cataloging, fewer than around ~5,500 would have been made. A relatively rare variation. Nice find! Thanks for sharing, -Sam 3 Quote

Bruce Pennington Posted July 3 Report Posted July 3 Congrats, John! It's a beauty! You're now an official member of the side-latch community. I got lucky and have one from the 130's and one from the 200's. Love them! 2 Quote
