Manfred50 Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 (edited) Hello, some days ago I found this youtube channel. There are incredible good nihonto videos. https://www.youtube.com/@sakodakanji/videos In some videos you can see the hada, hamon and hataraki very well. eternal_newbie Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 He's been doing this for a while. Not just good photography, but also regularly seeks out notable exhibits and gets footage of the best blades in the room. One of those essential bookmarks for collectors who can't regularly make it to Japan to see these exhibits in person. 1 Quote
anguilla1980 Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Oh yeah, great channel. I came upon it myself only several months ago. Quote

Rohan, are there really collectors who are so poor they can't go regularly to Japan for exhibitions? I cannot imagine that! 1 Quote
Lewis B Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Nice effort but his focus control was not great. The blades were out of focus most of the time in the few vlogs I checked. So far the best work in this area is by Shiotsuna on Facebook. Shiotsuna's mastery of the nihonto photography using a macro lens and teleconverter, under exhibit lighting conditions and through glass, is unrivalled. 2 Quote
