arilar Posted December 30, 2025 Author Report Posted December 30, 2025 Hi Piers! Out of the three small collections posted by me recently the one in first pic with molds included seemed most interesting. Here is a photo of that stuff from the backside. Guess closeup on the netsuke reveal its a "modern" production? Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted December 30, 2025 Report Posted December 30, 2025 Yes and yes. You bought the first lot? It’ll be interesting to see what you discover once they’re in your hands. The ‘netsuke’ resembles those made in Hong Kong around the turn of the previous century, perhaps 1900-1920…(?) 1 Quote

Thanks for fast answer! Yes, won that lot yesterday so will reach me early next year. The other two lots didnt attract me. Happy if that netsuke has that age anyhow!! Very curious on the both molds of course. Will certainly post closeups when in my hands. Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted December 30, 2025 Report Posted December 30, 2025 Great. If I get a minute tomorrow I’ll post some molds for you to compare yours with. See here: https://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/28754-accessories-for-the-tanegashima/page/2/#comments 1 Quote
