Burntcicada Posted Saturday at 05:58 PM Report Posted Saturday at 05:58 PM Hi, my grandfather in law recently passed away and left behind a wakizashi in handachi fittings. It belonged to his samurai ancestor. But he was never interested to trace the history of the blade passed down the family. So we have no idea what happened to the pair Katana. If it’s out there, could the community help throw out feelers for its potential whereabouts? The blade was forged by Yamato Daijo Fujiwara Masanori. But the distinct appearance of the kojiri-gashira and Kabuto-gane , etched with waves plus the human menuki motif is what I am hoping to locate. The samurai was from Niigata and was stationed in Aizu castle. So if anyone here in the community lives in, or has contacts in the area, your help would be greatly appreciated. Quote
ROKUJURO Posted Saturday at 06:22 PM Report Posted Saturday at 06:22 PM Steven, it might be a good idea to post your request in the "WANT TO BUY" section instead of here. Make better photos (dark, non-reflective background, close-ups etc.) so details could be seen. Quote
