This one is unique in that it does not have your usual kissaki and the normal mune is triangular in the middle ie not flat (The book I have said its a swan neck design)

I also cannot find prominent jihada .. just clean and nice .. I know I forgot to take the nakago lol .. but just looking at this is it possible to tell?

If it was anywhere else .. I'd say it was made in china (LOL) .. but this is genuine nihonto

This is a mumei .. but assumption would be its old because it does not have a deep sori but 1 thing I noticed for pre shinto period swords, the jihada is very promiment?? Or is it just me?

I guess the thing that catches my eye for early swords are the beautiful damascus like patterns (ie the mokume hada ikame hada masame hada patterns)

Thanks for any insights..

Richard

Hi Richard, unfortunately it's rather difficult to give any meaningful feedback on the swords presented with the provided photos. You say the first sword has little discernible Hada, often this can be an indicator of a Shin Shinto work.

I see some details but you have made it really difficult, didn't even realise two swords.

Would keep them within their own threads to avoid confusion, with measurements.

Do see hada in one of the images, looks like maybe itame with masame near the mune.

I guess you need to put as much effort in with better images and dimensions as folks here can put the effort in to assist you.
