Higo-san Posted July 11 Report Posted July 11 Dear all I would like to part with a small but very well made item: a fuchi signed by Shoami Masanori who was (together with a second generation) a very important master of the Kyo Shoami group. What looks to be rather simple at the first sight becomes more and more fascinating when taking a closer look (and that is what Japanese Art is all about or is it not ;)?): the fuchi is decorated with kind of shogi (氏) elements highlighted with gold. What appears to be scratches are actually leaves which are carved in kebori into the iron between the shogi elements. A very beautiful and balanced design which witnesses great craftsmanship! Length: 39.8 mm Width: 24.0 mm Height: 9.3 mm Nakago-ana: 26.6 mm (max) x 8.3 mm (max) There is no kashira but the fuchi would go very well with a horn kashira and could be used for mounting a tensho koshirae. Asking price: EUR 90.00 plus shipping costs Kind regards Chris Quote
