Jesta Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 I am looking at a kozuka that is for sale right now. It claims to be signed by Goto Junjo, but I am not sure that the mei is genuine. It seems a bit… unrefined… Does anyone else have any authenticated signatures for comparison? Or any thoughts on the legitimacy of the mei? Quote
Matsunoki Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 Can’t confirm Mei (sorry) but can tell you the subject is “The slaying of the Nue”…..old legend….google will tell all. Not sure the quality is up to Goto work although it’s very nice. 1 Quote

Lewis B Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 Appears that piece was sold at auction sometime in the past https://www.gazette-...-a-superb-shakudo--- Here is a Goto Junjo Mei from AOI. I have my doubts based on the signature and quality of the workmanship that its genuine. Quote
MauroP Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 Here a selfportrait of Gotō Junjō at the age he signed that kozuka (and his late signature) 3 Quote
Lewis B Posted January 30 Report Posted January 30 Another featuring the same scene. Sold on Bonhams site but no image of the Mei 1 1 Quote
