Matsunoki Posted April 1, 2024 Report Posted April 1, 2024 Was very happy to acquire this late Meiji bronze of the Heian courtier Fujiwara Yasumasa playing his flute. The subject is taken directly from an older famous woodblock print (see link if interested in the legend). Nice quality casting that really captures his robes billowing in the wind. Bizarrely it’s unsigned but imo it’s Miyao ….too good for Gyokko. https://www.sothebys...92-fujiwara-yasumasa 2 4 Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted April 1, 2024 Report Posted April 1, 2024 I think this links into the present 2024 NHK Taiga Drama every Sunday evening. What a lovely thing, Colin. Congratulations! https://www.japanesewiki.com/person/FUJIWARA no Yasumasa.html 1 Quote
