The box lid (outside) says 狸の腹鼓 Tanuki no harazutsumi (tanuki drumming on his stomach under the moonlight)(There is a noh play/kyōgen with this theme). 銘 大森英光 Mei Ōmori Hidemitsu inside of lid 藤井清 Fujii Kiyoshi Paper validates the hakogaki 月下狸図鐔 Tsuba with image of tanuki under the moonlight 鉄地丸形高彫 Tetsu-ji, marugata, takabori (tsuba terms, I'll leave as is) 象嵌 Zōgan 銘英光 Mei Hidemitsu 1 Quote
