Colorado Chris Posted May 10, 2023 Report Posted May 10, 2023 (edited) I believe I have figured out what the tang says but would like to get some verification and if possible any information on the sword maker and a rough date on when the sword was made. I have attached several pictures. Thanks in advance for any assistance. I believe it says Noshu Seki Ju Yoshida Fujifusa Saku Chris Edited May 10, 2023 by Colorado Chris I forgot some of my text. Colorado Chris Posted May 10, 2023 Author Report Posted May 10, 2023 (edited) In addition what would be the best way/product to clean the tarnish off the blade (not the tang) without damaging the blade? Edited May 10, 2023 by Colorado Chris change text to question Quote
mecox Posted May 10, 2023 Report Posted May 10, 2023 Chris, yes looks to be: FUJIFUSA (藤房) from Gifu, real name Yoshida Fujikazu (吉田藤一), born on July 8th 1918 (Taisho 7). Worked as a guntō smith during World War II, and registered as a Seki smith Showa 19 (1944) April 30. He lived at Nishi-cho in Seki-machi. Not much information on him. He was a later war smith. You blade is probably mid-1944. There is also a blade by him dated June 1945. 2 Quote
