Vincent M Posted November 2, 2021 Report Posted November 2, 2021 I have some difficulties to translate some kanjis of a katana. I am very new in the world of nihonto, so any help will be very appreciated. I read : Banshu Ju Fujiwara Muneshige But I am not sure about the first and second kanji. 1 Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted November 2, 2021 Report Posted November 2, 2021 That is correct Vincent. 播磨 Harima (now in Hyōgo) starts with that Kanji that can also be read ‘Ban’. The second Kanji is an old variant for 州 Shū or province. (I have noticed these three 刀 used for Shū in the Ōsaka area before. I wonder if it was a geographical thing?) 2 1 Quote
