Bugyotsuji Posted February 12, 2009 Author Report Posted February 12, 2009 Bothers me  I am used to them being dark shakudo. It looks too new, and doesn't match the rest of the tsuba. Just my 2 yen. Brian Just your 2 yen, maybe, but your opinion carries the weight of two of those large heavy silver Meiji yen. The rarer ones. Even if I fix it, as I am planning, in deference to you Brian and Stephen, the offending photos will still be staring brightly at everyone, so maybe they should be photoshopped, but I don't know how to do it... Ah, yes, everyone please wear sunglasses when observing the new Tsuba work... Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted May 3, 2009 Author Report Posted May 3, 2009 Just had some feedback re: 'Sekigane' and 'Ategane'. Although the received literature says Sekigane, the word Ategane has been observed in NBTHK paperwork for Tsuba, regarding for example the reinforcement strips in the photos earlier in this thread. ('Sekigane' is still used for Nakago Ana though.) Apologies to Brian. Quote
