RGRChristian Posted March 21, 2019 Report Posted March 21, 2019 First off, I appreciate any help offered here. Thanks in advance. I reciently purchased this sword and I'm trying to determine if its special and worth restoring or if it's just an average example. I plan to keep it if its above average. Knowing who made it seems like a good start. Christian Quote
Mark Posted March 21, 2019 Report Posted March 21, 2019 looks like Amahide. there is info probably available on line, he was A WWII smith, made some nice blades but had a shop that made showato and had his name on them. If i had to guess yours is a showato. Quote
Geraint Posted March 21, 2019 Report Posted March 21, 2019 Hi Christian and welcome. Are there any stamped marks on the nakago/tang? If so they would help us confirm what Mark suggests. All the best. P.S. You can auto add your signature in your profile. Quote
RGRChristian Posted March 21, 2019 Author Report Posted March 21, 2019 There are no other marks anywhere that I can see. Also the overall length of the blade with the handle removed is 32 3/4 inches. I added some more bad i-phone pics. Quote
