Mantis dude Posted April 25, 2018 Report Posted April 25, 2018 Hi all, I have some bits and pieces most came from tobacco pouches and/or those menuki boxes. These things I am just not sure about so I figured I ask. There are 4 small tabs (for lack of a better word) 3 of which have some decoration;,a pair of round objects- wrapped in copper? slightly different sizes and some stamped images of which I can only make a few things out; and finally what looks like a tiny menuki of birds with a long post on the back that has a hole at the other end. Any ideas? thanks. Quote
Geraint Posted April 25, 2018 Report Posted April 25, 2018 Hi Ken. Can't help much I'm afraid but the top left piece looks like one of the tabs that sometimes fit into the slot in a fuchi to secure it to an unwrapped tsuka. I'm sure there is a Japanese term for these but I don't know it. All the best. 2 Quote
yamabiru Posted May 13, 2019 Report Posted May 13, 2019 The top right button looking decoration/button thing, is based on a silver coin from the Tokugawa era. The mamegaita gin coins. The image is Daikoku, god of wealth. Quote
