Steve Waszak Posted March 7, 2018 Report Posted March 7, 2018 A change of pace here... Offered is a 17th-century Yi Dynasty Busan (Korean) teabowl of Gohon Mishima ware. Such bowls are thought to have been commissioned from Japan for production in Korea; some may have been made in Japan as well. The present article is a very fine example of the Gohon Mishima type, being in excellent condition and measuring 8.4cm in height x 11.9cm in diameter. Gohon Mishima bowls were for use in the Tea Ceremony, and were not used (as far as I know) for more ordinary purposes. Needless to say, relatively few ceramics have survived the 350-400 years since the 17th century unscathed, so this bowl is a rather special piece. Boxed. $1,400 plus any applicable paypal fees. Please let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Steve
