Peter that's lovely! I assume it's in iron?  Perhaps the distinct punch used for the smaller flower heads might lead to a specific maker.

This is a hard one to judge. Get a funny feeling about the patina, and something else bugging me...but not sure what.
I think the patina was redone. As for the rest of it, I would like to hear Ford's opinion. It has some nice features and work, but then I keep coming back to the colors that just don't seem right to me. Love to hear other opinions

Hi Brian. I think your right, the patina on the seppa dai seems to have been touched up. The rest of it seems fine. looks much better in hand, i think zooming in so close might not have been a good idea.  I would also love to hear Fords opinion as i might be sending it to him for some restoration.

That does indeed look a lot better...the lighting too. Yes, I think this may come out very nicely indeed.

Sorry Gents, missed this one earlier...busy start to the year.

 

The patina does look a little thin or perhaps fiddled with. Certainly not at 'full strength' but not a big issue to rectify in this case. Similarly the gilding is a little tired in places and might benefit from a little bit of help.
