Kronos Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 I had a quick question on shinsa fees, as I understand it you can now submit for both Hozon and TH simultaneously at the same time at 27/37k JPY each respectively for a pass and 12k JPY for a fail. Are these prices still correct and how does this work exactly? For example if you fail both do you pay 12k as it only got to the Hozon stage or 24k for failing both? Quote
paulb Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 James I may be out of date but the way I think it used to be is you submit for both. If it passes Hozon it is then moved on to TH if it fails the process stops there so you only pay the one fail fee. If it passes hozon and fails TH you pay the pass for the hozon and fail for the TH. As said thats how I think it was not necessarily how it now is but it would seem logical. cheers Paul Quote

Kronos Posted February 25, 2016 Author Report Posted February 25, 2016 Thanks for the quick response I thought that may be the case as it does seem logical. The reason I ask is there's questions about the mei on swords that otherwise would be TH imho if shoshin so no point throwing away money if they have a chance of failing. Edit: ah I didn't realise H+TH was only 30,000 yen Quote
Guido Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 Edit: ah I didn't realise H+TH was only 30,000 yen Unfortunately it isn't: hozon = 25,000, tokubetsu hozon (if submitted at the same time) = 30,000 => 55,000 (you save 5,000). Quote
Kronos Posted February 25, 2016 Author Report Posted February 25, 2016 Unfortunately it isn't: hozon = 25,000, tokubetsu hozon (if submitted at the same time) = 30,000 => 55,000 (you save 5,000). Oh, that's what I meant and English is meant to be my first language Quote
Guido Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 Don't worry, English is certainly not *my* first language, so it probably was just me who misunderstood you. ???? Quote
Ted Tenold Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 The schedule of fees can also be seen on the American Branch website at; http://nbthk-ab.org/Shinsa_Fee_Schedule.html. Also the standards for judgement are the there also; http://nbthk-ab.org/Standards.html Quote
