takakage Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Hello, here is a mei of kin michi , in spite katte sagari yasuri mei, i found this mei strange ,it mismatches to the nidai, it is far to the mune and chisel stroke are thick. may be a gimei by a later dai , may be sandai ? what do you think about it ? thanks Quote
takakage Posted October 13, 2007 Author Report Posted October 13, 2007 the other side nihon kaji sosho ........ Quote
Jacques Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Hi Patrick, The ura mei indicate the nidai of Kinmichi (kanji so). But pictures of the blade could help better. Quote
takakage Posted October 13, 2007 Author Report Posted October 13, 2007 i agree with the fact that this kanji so was used by the nidai, not the same for the others but overall this mei seems false chisel stroke are thick, in omote the mei should reach the mune for last kanji michi. sorry no photos of the blade........... Jacques Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 here is a daisho made by the nidai, you can make a comparison, you are better expert than me. To my eyes three things are wrong on your blade the location of the mei (too near the nakagojiri) the kiku mon (should be more large) and the thick chisel strokes. It's my thought but i'm not an expert. Quote
Guest reinhard Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 It seems, the nakago-jiri was cut off some time ago. Taking this into consideration, the remaining part is perfectly in accordance with nidai Kanemichi, who worked around Manji-era. The style of writing, the kiku-mon and the yasurime are all his. As for the thickness of the chisel strokes: Don't compare oshigata with photographs; it will lead you astray. More informations about the blade itself would be helpful. Quote
takakage Posted October 14, 2007 Author Report Posted October 14, 2007 thanks a lot reinhart for your comments, i haven't got photos of the blade but it is machi okuri has got ko itame hada , hamon gunome and notare with thick nioi and nie and mishina boshi. there is also a ware in the middle part on the jigane.
