Higo-san Posted May 30, 2015 Report Posted May 30, 2015 Dear fellow board members, I would like to part with one of my favorite tsuba. I have shown this piece to quite a few people and almost everyone told me that this tsuba could very well be an early Akasaka tsuba; it definetly shows some of the features: layers at the rim and in the sukashi, the form of the rim and the tekkotsu indicate towards Akasaka. Nevertheless, it could also be a Ko-Shoami piece since I cannot see the violette luster on this piece which is typical for many Akasaka pieces. If the next owner descides to ask a NBTHK shinsa for their opinion, I would be happy to hear the result. I have never seen this design before on a tsuba - but it looks to be some kind of water flower or a wisteria bending under the waves of a stream. This could either be a very beautiful interpretation of the famous musashino design or some kind of metaphor relating to bending without breaking - an enthralling taste IMHO. It has a fanatstic iron, nice yakite, tekkotsu and tsuchimei. The diameter is 7.6 x 7.5 x 0.65 cm. Let's talk about the price... I would like to have USD 1,100.00 for this tsuba but I am open to reasonable offers. Of course, I will accept EUR when sold within the EU. PayPal is accepted and worldwide shipping included. Best, Chris
