Soshin Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Hi Jason M., I am not completely sure your question but I am sure one of the owners of Rice Crackers is on NMB. Their contact information is on the website as well. Yours truly, David Stiles Quote
jason_mazzy Posted January 27, 2013 Author Report Posted January 27, 2013 This piece was sold several years ago and I am looking for a piece very similar or this piece. If the owner was on the board I was curious if they were interested in selling. Quote
jason_mazzy Posted November 29, 2014 Author Report Posted November 29, 2014 bump. still interested in this style tsuba with an engraved ivy pattern Quote
Soshin Posted November 29, 2014 Report Posted November 29, 2014 Hi Jason, The design is called (四方猪目透唐草文図) in Japanese which means four boars eyes in openwork and a arabesques pattern. Here is a link the a very similar tsuba for sale on Fine sword website right now: http://www.finesword.co.jp/sale/kodougu/htm/2001_3000/2201_2250/2241/k2241.htm. At only 65,000 Yen given the exchange rate in USD the price is right in my opinion. From my experience they write and speak English and I had no problem communicating with them via email. Hope you find this helpful. Quote
jason_mazzy Posted November 30, 2014 Author Report Posted November 30, 2014 Many thanks. I am still looking. That is a nice one but I prefer a little more detail in the ivy to match my fittings. This is on my definite list as a backup piece. I am also looking for a kozuka or kogai with the ivy pattern on black shakudo if anyone sees one. Again many thanks for the sharp eye. Great piece.
