errant-artifacts Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I have posted here several times in the past with great success. I do work for an auction gallery so please be aware that what information you give me may be used in cataloging. I am an enthusiast, and not having a great deal of knowledge or money this is my way of still learning about what I love and handling great things but drawing a paycheck to boot. So thank you in advance. Please see pictures of inscription on my post in "translation help" Any thoughts on this piece? Quote
Jean Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 Chris, Looks like Nambokucho period. Perhaps a reshaped nagamaki. Is it possible to have aicture of the groove (seems there is one) Could be second or third generation, this kind of O kissaki is generally found between 1356/1368. Describe us the hada and the hamon. Masame, itame, mokume. Mix of itame, masame, located where: near the hamon, near the Shinogi. Hamon: any togari? Quote
