Were all the tassels mandated by regulation to be the same length? A.I. tells me that they could be longer or shorter depending on the manufacturer and period with Variations in thickness and dimensions of the tassel.

I was first exposed to the insights of 'fighting steel' while in the military and learned (sometimes the hard way) that all steels are not equal when blade meets blade.
