Just a newbe thing, Obvious for many but not for me, I have a fine work of yari, made 1857/1858? I seen so many fine Naginata and obvious they are classified high above a simple yari, but is there a ytbi g about yari i need to know, when it's a out classification?

It have been cut to boards and planks already, it was more than 8 year ago I take the old tree down, yes I know it's hard but time is on my side.

The swords of the kings on museum in europe is exelent condition, the swords used by troops and just follow in family's property is neglected for in europe it was a Tool of war, not often regarded as fine art,

If I remember right, there was Japanese people carry swords when they lived in China during the occupation, to get respect from the Chinese people, it was lawful for back in Japan it was forbidden to carry swords so this was oportunity when live in China, and actual sword maker from Japan had factory in China, but not producing real traditional swords only funktional, this factory was stil working after the WW2, and maybe some stil are modern factory today making the madern swords in big numbers

Yes it is many different fake swords in China, I was working in TCM, hospital in Shanghai september 99 So I also bued some on antic market, the worry I had is the Chinese rule you not alowed to bring out Chinese antics over 200 year old from China, so I was worried for the 2 Chines swords I also buy,

I don't know and I can't find, I'm so green so I think I miss obvious things, hope somebody will fill in my blank spot, what material(type of wood) is a Shira Saya made from or is it more than one wood used and then why? Very thankful if anybody know this for me.
