Hi, looking at purchasing this stamped katana that appears to have been remounted. The site describes it as having "type 98 Shin Guntō" proportions but the nakago and mei look older to me.
I'd really appreciate help with Reading the mei, I can make out what might be 日 at the top but I'm guessing past that
Any thoughts on likely era / school based on the nakago shape and patina?
Whether the koshirae looks like genuine WWII remounting of an older blade, or something else?
Anything that jumps out as gimei red flags?
