Greetings All. I recently purchased an over 50cm, 350 year old blade from a seller in Japan. He used ups to send it to the uk and it was last scanned by them on march 14th this year, they say it is now with customs. The seller and I are concerned as it has simply disappeared, no contact from customs at all. I asked the seller for details of his description on the customs form..... he says he described it as an 'imitation' !!! I have no idea why.
Does anyone (after you have stopped laughing) have any thoughts on how I should proceed trying to locate this beautiful blade or has it been destroyed due to his description with no effort by HMRC to contact either myself or the seller. I have bought from this chap before through ebay without issue but that was a wakizashi.
