  1. Thank you! I’ll take a few more pictures after I get home from. Work.
  2. Picked this good luck flag up at a local flea market recently from a military dealer who recently acquired a large collection of Japanese ww2 items. Just wondering if any translations could be made and if anyone could tell me any more about it, possibly the soldiers name, if there is any dates on it or what the shrine stamp or location of the original prefecture etc. after looking online at quit a few different examples I’d have to say mine is in decent shape and has some really nice signatures and one cool depiction of a sword. I don’t think it’s a fake based on what I’ve looked at online but I’m no expert. Please any and all info and input is appreciated. Thank you much.
  3. Yes the tassel is all brown.
  4. I apologize for the incorrect terms and spelling. I am very new to this. All help and opinions and thoughts are welcomed and I am grateful for any and all help, knowledge. I will be posting more pictures of the sword and also of a wakazashi I picked up locally at a flea market. As this is a translation post I will not add on it in this post, but will instead post in a more general part of the forum. Much respect and thanks. You guys are great.
  5. That’s awesome! Thank you. Is this something commonly seen?
  6. Hello, I’m an amateur nohinto collector and claim to know nothing about it. Just learning. I picked up this katana in ww2 gunto Shirasaya. The nakago is signed omi no Kami fujiwara norihiro, can’t find much on the sword maker but I found something interesting on the burnishing under the fuchi. Looks like very small cursive kanji characters that possibly the polisher wrote. Can anyone tell me more about this or possibly translate the cursive kanji for me? Thank you in advance.
