  6. Hello all, I am new to nihonto and definitely not an expert with this style of Japanese sword so I am asking your your help. I was under the impression that all these "parade sword" blades were machine made. My question is, is this blade machine made or could it be an older wakizashi (nagasa is 24 1/4 inches long) n modern mounts. What do you think? Machine made or could it be older? Does this style of blade detach from the handle where the nakago can be visualized?
  7. Oli, so do you think it could be Gimei then? or is there a way to tell which generation the sword belongs to?

  10. Hey all, I am talking with the seller and he sent me these pics. Before I buy, I just want to get your opinion. Can never be too careful these days. He is going to be sending me pics of the nakago soon. What do you think, genuine or fake? He says that his grandfather was a medic in the war and brought it back. Any opinions? Thanks!

  15. @Rivkin here are some photos of the activity as best I could get it. its easier to see by the tip but harder to see by the handle. @David Flynn Thank you for your opinion! I would love others opinions as well until a consensus is reached.
