Jean, thanks for getting back to me. It does have a screw & you can partially see it in one of the pics. The pic is the last pic here. I have to find out what the screw is inserted into. Thanks again, lujo

When I first looked at it I wanted to take the handle off but it did not have a peg. I tried to loosen the screw but it just kept going around like it was stripped. I don't have the sword yet.
